About the role

The Head of International Banking will lead the bank’s cross‑border operations, shaping its global footprint and driving growth while ensuring strict regulatory compliance. This senior position reports to senior executives and influences the institution’s international strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction for international banking, aligning with long‑term expansion goals.
• Supervise teams in trade finance, treasury, correspondent banking and cross‑border services.
• Represent the institution at international forums and maintain relationships with correspondent banks, regulators and multilateral institutions.
• Strengthen correspondent banking networks and develop tailored solutions for multinational corporations and high‑net‑worth clients.
• Ensure compliance with FATF, Basel III, AML/CFT and other frameworks, establishing robust risk‑management systems.
• Oversee operational efficiency through advanced technology platforms for digital and cross‑border transactions.
• Monitor global market trends, evaluate international client portfolios and provide strategic insights to senior leadership.
• Coach and motivate team members, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability and professionalism.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate degree in Banking, Finance or a related field, or an equivalent professional qualification.
• Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM or ACCA are advantageous.
• Extensive expertise in global financial markets, trade finance and risk management.
• Strong cross‑cultural communication skills with experience managing diverse teams across Africa, Europe and Asia.
• Proven ability to build trust with multinational corporations and institutional investors.
