Junior Accountant – Financial Services

About the role

The Junior Accountant will support the Finance Department by maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring statutory compliance, and assisting with reporting activities. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines while serving internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and record transactions accurately.
• Perform account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and maintain accounting records in line with company policies.
• Assist with tax return preparation, file statutory returns (APS, VAT, TDS) and support regulatory compliance.
• Manage debtor and creditor accounts, monitor receivables, and verify payment instructions.
• Reconcile inter‑company balances, update the Fixed Asset Register and conduct solvency analyses.
• Respond to audit requests, liaise with banks and handle routine client queries.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• ACCA Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
• Previous accounting or internship experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and tax regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
