Junior Accountant – Financial Services

About the role

The Junior Accountant will support the Finance Department in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring statutory compliance, and assisting with reporting activities. This entry‑level position offers exposure to a full spectrum of accounting functions within the financial services sector.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Record and process financial transactions promptly and accurately.
• Perform regular account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare and submit periodic financial and operational reports.
• Support tax return preparation and file statutory returns (APS, VAT, TDS).
• Monitor debtor and creditor accounts, follow up on outstanding receivables and manage payment schedules.
• Reconcile inter‑company balances and maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
• Respond to audit requests and liaise with banks on transactional matters.
• Assist with finance‑related projects and ad‑hoc duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• ACCA Level 2 and/or 3 or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
• Previous accounting or internship experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and tax regulations.
