People Operations and Site HR Generalist

About the role

Papaya Global is seeking a hands‑on People Operations Specialist to support global HR processes and provide local HR operational support for its Mauritius office. The role focuses on accurate HR data management, execution of employee lifecycle activities, and coordination with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update employee data across HRIS systems, ensuring high accuracy and data integrity across regions.
• Execute global onboarding, employee changes, and off‑boarding processes.
• Manage employee documentation to ensure completeness and compliance.
• Track HR processes, follow up on missing data, approvals, or inconsistencies.
• Support payroll inputs by providing timely and accurate employee data.
• Collaborate with global HR, Finance, and Legal teams to align employee data across systems.
• Provide first‑point‑of‑contact HR support for Mauritius employees, handling onboarding logistics, contracts, changes, and off‑boarding.
• Coordinate local engagement initiatives and internal communications from an execution perspective.

Required profile

• 4‑6 years of experience in People Operations, HR Operations, or HR Coordination.
• Hands‑on experience with HRIS and employee data management.
• Strong attention to detail, high data‑quality standards, and ability to manage large volumes of repetitive tasks.
• Excellent English communication skills and ability to work in a global, cross‑functional environment.
• Reliable, organized, and disciplined in day‑to‑day execution.
