Placement Broker – Non-Motor General Insurance

About the role

Provide knowledge, insight and placement recommendations for broking activities to ensure that clients’ expectations are consistently met. This role incorporates a wide level of expertise where the broker is autonomous in handling covers and accounts independently.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain necessary underwriting information, assist in responding to technical queries, and prepare quotes and summaries for clients.
• Review and evaluate analytics to assess client risks and support market placement.
• Orchestrate new business placement, renewals, and alterations of existing coverage.
• Perform needs and gap analysis to recommend program improvements.
• Bind carrier quotes and coverage confirmations.
• Process and file documents on internal management information systems (MIS).
• Ensure efficient follow‑up with clients‑prospects and insurers.
• Build strong relationships with clients and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Adhere to the company’s compliance policies and procedures.
• Conduct program peer reviews.

Required profile

• Degree in Management, Economics, Finance or related field, or professional insurance qualifications (e.g., CII) or progress towards them.
• Knowledge of insurance underwriting practices and ability to provide appropriate product coverage options.
• Industry experience in real estate, hospitality, or leisure is a plus.
• Strong presentation skills and ability to drive complex technical conversations.
• Excellent relationship‑management, collaboration and conflict‑resolution abilities.
• Critical thinking, problem‑solving, high adaptability and receptiveness to feedback.
• Keen eye for detail and strong organisational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with underwriting software or management systems.
