Accountant 2 - Fund Accounting

About the role

IQ-EQ, a global investor services group serving private markets, is hiring an Accountant 2 for fund accounting in Port Louis. This is a mid-level position delivering comprehensive fund accounting services with minimal supervision, covering low and medium complexity funds and core accounting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate financial statements, NAV reports and other fund deliverables in line with prescribed guidelines and accounting standards.
• Maintain fund books and records, perform daily bookkeeping and prepare periodic financial reports on time and to quality standards.
• Process routine capital calls, distributions and investor notices while learning client-specific requirements and industry practice.
• Follow quality control procedures, carry out self-reviews, identify and escalate operational risks and follow risk management protocols.
• Maintain timesheets, support documentation and improvement of procedures, take part in training and process improvement, and carry out other duties as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, ACCA Level 1, or ACA qualification.
• At least 2 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 1 year in fund accounting.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and fund structures, able to handle moderately complex financial data independently.
• Ability to work independently and contribute effectively within a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting tools and systems.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
