Assistant Accountant

About the role

A global business company is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join its finance team. The role supports the day-to-day accounting operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day accounting and finance activities.
• Post transactions accurately into the relevant ledgers.
• Process and record supplier and other payments.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Verify invoices, supporting documents and payment requests.
• Assist with bank and account reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records.
• Assist with month-end closing and the preparation of financial information.
• Ensure accounting entries are properly documented and filed.
• Help the Finance team with other accounting and administrative tasks and ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures and controls.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field, or ACCA Level 1 or Level 2 completed or in progress.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
• Good knowledge of basic accounting principles.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, good organisational and time-management skills.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop professionally.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
