Assistant Manager Accounting - Fund Asset Management

About the role

Ocorian's Asset Manager Services division is looking for an Assistant Manager Accounting for its fund business. The role covers the planning and preparation of financial reports for a portfolio of funds, ensuring reporting deadlines are met and client accounting requirements comply with Ocorian's contractual obligations. The position is hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Understand the entities in the fund structure, their transactions and reporting needs.
• Maintain a process for timely delivery of client accounting requirements for all entities in the allocated portfolio.
• Apply current accounting standards (UK GAAP, IFRS or US GAAP) and best practice to account production.
• Set up reporting procedures for new funds and entities based on fund documents and client requirements.
• Support the administration team so that bookkeeping is timely and accurate.
• Calculate Net Asset Values in line with each fund's requirements.
• Liaise with clients and professional advisers on account production timetables, attend board and client meetings to present accounts, and liaise with auditors on audit completion.
• Ensure regulatory and statutory reporting is met and that Ocorian's policies are followed and improved.
• Represent the Senior Manager at client meetings and advise on administrative matters.

Required profile

• ACCA/ACA fully qualified, or equivalent experience.
• Accounting experience in private equity, real estate or corporate environments is desirable.
• Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication, attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, and to adapt as the role develops.

Required skills

• Solid technical accounting knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong IT skills.
