Disbursement Account Assistant – Port Louis, Mauritius

About the role

The Disbursement Account Assistant will support the finance function of Inchcape Shipping Services in Port Louis, handling both accounts receivable and payable. The role ensures accurate invoicing, debt collection, supplier payments and financial record keeping while assisting compliance and reporting activities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage debt collection, prepare customer statements and monitor outstanding payments.
• Generate and issue customer invoices in line with approved tariffs and credit terms.
• Allocate receipts, advance payments and maintain up‑to‑date financial records.
• Prepare final disbursement accounts and coordinate invoice processing for port calls.
• Process and reconcile supplier invoices, statements and payments.
• Maintain debtor, creditor and inter‑company accounts, resolving balances.
• Complete monthly VAT reconciliations and ensure correct VAT entries.
• Support vendor onboarding, KYC and Dow Jones compliance checks.
• Monitor renewals of insurance, licences and bank guarantees.
• Assist operational teams with finance‑related queries and system issues.
• Perform additional duties as required by management.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Finance, or ACCA Level 1; HSC with Accounting preferred.
• Knowledge of statutory law such as the VAT Act and Finance Act.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English and French.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
