Financial Accountant – FMCG & Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Financial Accountant with strong practical accounting and commercial experience to join an established FMCG and manufacturing business in Mauritius. The role involves managing management accounts, costing, stock accounting, reporting, and statutory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy, compliance with standards, and timely reporting.
• Manage general ledger entries, reconcile accounts, and support month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Handle financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders, assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and providing analytical insights.
• Work with accounting software, support audits, maintain proper documentation, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams on financial and operational matters.

Required profile

• Fully qualified CIMA or ACCA with strong practical accounting and commercial experience.
• Proven ability to independently prepare management accounts from start to finish with minimal supervision.
• Strong experience in a manufacturing, FMCG, or other stock‑intensive environment, including product costing.
• Hands‑on, accountable, able to work independently, take ownership, and meet deadlines.
• Fluent in written and spoken English with strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel/Google Sheets and financial modelling (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, advanced formulas).
• Proficiency in SAGE accounting software.
