Food and Beverage Supervisor

About the role

Constance Le Chaland, a luxury resort on the south-eastern coast of Mauritius, is looking for a Food and Beverage Supervisor. The role works closely with the Assistant Outlet Manager and the Outlet Manager to maintain high standards of service and the quality of the food served.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain quality standards of service in line with the Assistant Outlet Manager and the Outlet Manager.
• Know the food being served and the products correctly.
• Check safety, cleanliness and tidiness of the outlet area.
• Arrange seating and attention for groups, VIPs and special guests.
• Handle guest comments and feedback and discuss improvements with the managers.
• Assist the managers in training and developing outlet staff, evaluate staff performance and maintain discipline and grooming.
• Counsel staff according to procedures and policies.
• Attend and coordinate briefings, meetings and training sessions, and take part in daily inventories.
• Care for and maintain equipment, and perform other duties assigned by the managers.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the hotel industry; proven experience in a top luxury resort is a plus.
• At least 1 year of professional experience on a similar position is a plus.
• Fluency in English, written and spoken; knowledge of a second language is a plus.
• Secondary education; additional training or certificates in the field are a plus.

• Understanding of hotel operations and knowledge of hygiene and service quality rules.
• Effective communication and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Team leadership.
