Fund Accountant - Alternative Investment Funds

About the role

A growing Mauritius team is looking for experienced Fund Accountants to deliver accounting, financial reporting and investor servicing support for a portfolio of alternative investment funds and listed fund structures. The role needs strong technical accounting knowledge of Channel Islands fund structures and experience servicing UK-listed funds, and calls for independent work, client relationship management and mentoring of juniors.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual fund accounts and NAV calculations for investment funds and special purpose vehicles
• Maintain accurate accounting records and general ledgers in line with IFRS
• Review investment transactions such as acquisitions, disposals, corporate actions and financing arrangements
• Prepare investor capital account statements and related reporting
• Act as primary day-to-day contact for clients and liaise with investment managers, administrators, custodians, brokers, auditors, legal advisers and directors
• Coordinate annual audits and attend client meetings
• Ensure compliance with Channel Islands regulatory requirements and assist with regulatory reporting and filings
• Support internal controls and fund governance procedures

Required profile

• ACCA qualified, or equivalent recognised professional accounting qualification
• Minimum 5 years' experience in fund accounting
• Proven experience servicing alternative, private equity, real estate or debt funds, and direct experience with Guernsey funds
• Experience supporting UK-listed funds and managing client relationships
• Experience coordinating external audits and financial reporting

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and fund structures, capital activity and investor reporting
• Excellent financial statement preparation and advanced Microsoft Excel
• Experience with fund accounting software and reporting platforms
• Strong analytical, reconciliation and problem-solving abilities
