Head of Human Resources – Africa

About the role

The Head of Human Resources – Africa will design and lead the regional HR function for a fast‑growing logistics group. Based in Mauritius with flexible remote working, the role requires frequent travel across the continent to support acquisitions and new market entries.

Key responsibilities

• Serve on the Africa Leadership Team as the HR voice, presenting people plans, integration progress and risks to regional and group leadership.
• Lead HR due diligence on acquisition targets and own the people side of integration, harmonising terms, structures and culture across multiple legal systems.
• Oversee in‑country HR teams and stand up HR capability in new markets after each deal.
• Drive senior hiring, succession planning, performance management and reward programmes across the region.
• Roll out group HR policies, systems and reporting to ensure consistency.

Required profile

• Proven senior HR leader with executive‑team credibility and extensive Africa experience across several countries.
• Hands‑on M&A integration experience in a fast‑paced environment, understanding both due‑diligence gaps and first‑100‑day priorities.
• Fluency in English and a second language (French or Portuguese) is a strong advantage.
• Result‑driven, comfortable with ambiguity and able to travel at short notice.
• Full senior generalist HR toolkit and strong presentation skills to influence board‑room discussions.
