Health and Safety Officer

About the role

The Health and Safety Officer will be based in Curepipe, working on a hybrid schedule that combines on‑site duties with remote work. This full‑time position is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring occupational health and safety policies to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, update and enforce safety and health procedures across the organisation.
• Conduct regular risk assessments, workplace inspections and incident investigations.
• Maintain accurate safety records, prepare reports and present findings to management.
• Deliver training sessions and awareness programmes to employees at all levels.
• Support managers in implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor changes in legislation and industry best practices, recommending updates to safety standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
• Strong understanding of safety and health legislation, regulations and industry standards.
• Excellent analytical, reporting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication and training skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
