Housekeeping Coordinator

About the role

Constance Le Chaland, a luxury resort on the south-eastern coast of Mauritius, is looking for a Housekeeping Coordinator. The role manages the administrative and operational coordination of the Housekeeping department, including guest requests, supplies, records and liaison with other departments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage reports, keys and all procedures related to the Housekeeping department.
• Coordinate with other departments and suppliers on guest requests and requisitions.
• Control guest supplies, stationery and expenses, and maintain stock of guest supplies and office stationery.
• Answer guest calls, fill out forms, control Lost & Found records and keep accurate daily, monthly and attendance records.
• Keep the room availability system running smoothly and prepare the Housekeeping requisition storeroom.
• Do typing and paperwork for the Executive Housekeeper and his assistant, and prepare end-of-month reports.
• Maintain hotel records, memos and forms, and keep the Housekeeping office, store and equipment clean.
• Screen complaints and act quickly, following hotel policies and implementing training programmes with the Training department.

Required profile

• Middle or secondary education; additional training or certificates in the field are a plus.
• At least 1 year of experience in the hotel industry; proven experience in a top luxury resort is a plus.
• Fluency in English, written and spoken; knowledge of a second language is a plus.
• Good knowledge of housekeeping and product knowledge of the hotel.
