Junior Accountant, Corporate

About the role

This Junior Accountant position sits in the Client Accounting Shared Services (CASS) team, serving mainly Jersey. You will handle client accounting tasks, including bookkeeping, simple financial statements and management accounts prepared under the applicable accounting framework, and quarterly reporting for companies and trusts across real estate, wealth management and capital markets. All work must be accurate and follow internal policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post final bookkeeping entries needed for financial statements and management accounts
• Run the period-end closing process, including prepayments and accruals, loans and bank transactions for the assigned client portfolio
• Prepare simple annual financial statements for companies and trusts under IFRS and UK Accounting Standards, and management accounts from client records
• Support client accounting colleagues and help with ad-hoc projects
• Achieve financial and/or utilisation targets set by management and carry out other reasonable duties

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
• Enrolled in or pursuing a professional accounting qualification
• Prior bookkeeping or financial reporting experience preferred
• Highly proficient in English and French
• Ability to learn UK GAAP and IFRS and other frameworks
• Flexibility to work within UK time zones for client meetings in Europe
• Strong organisation, planning and analytical skills, with high integrity

Required skills

• Ability to learn accounting software such as Viewpoint
• Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook is an advantage
