Junior Accounts Officer

About the role

BIA Group, active in the sales, rentals and after-sales services of equipment for public works, mines, quarries and transport, is hiring a Junior Accounts Officer in Mauritius under a permanent contract. The role reports to the Team Leader and AP Analyst and covers the administrative tasks needed for OTIF invoice posting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Key responsibilities

• Perform the 3-way match and post invoices according to SLA, with the correct supplier accounts, cost centres and tax accounts.
• Post fixed asset invoices using the correct SAP transaction codes and post expenses to the deferred account as required.
• Post parked invoices ready for posting, repark those still showing anomalies with a comment and change their status as needed.
• Take part in the monthly closing and ensure compliance with the closing calendar.
• Post expense notes and regularly update the local entity on the status of follow-ups and on the status of work to N+1.

Required profile

• ACCA Level 1 or HSC with Accounts as principal.
• Fresh starter in accounting; knowledge and application of accounting principles is an advantage.
• Bilingual English and French.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Accounting principles and SAP transaction codes.
