Linen Shift Leader

About the role

Constance Le Chaland, a luxury resort on the south-eastern coast of Mauritius, is looking for a Linen Shift Leader. The role covers the linen section of the laundry, including keeping linen clean and to hotel standard, supervising deliveries and supporting the Laundry Manager's absence.

Key responsibilities

• Run the laundry section smoothly in the absence of the Laundry Manager and keep customer service standards high, anticipating and exceeding guest expectations.
• Supervise linen delivery to the storeroom and the distribution of unclaimed lost property.
• Monitor equipment, facilities and grounds using a preventative maintenance plan, report breakdowns quickly and respect environmental and legal standards.
• Keep staff informed, check daily attendance, supervise duty rosters and holiday plans, and monitor morale, discipline and motivation.
• Ensure staff receive adequate training and follow dress, appearance and conduct codes.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety laws, company safety policies and fire alarm/emergency procedures, and promote energy efficiency.

Required profile

• Middle or secondary education; additional training or certificates in the field are a plus.
• At least 3 years of experience in the hotel industry; proven experience in top luxury resorts is a plus.
• Fluency in English, written and spoken; knowledge of a second language is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong interpersonal, organisational, planning and communication skills.
• Quality control and handling of customer service inquiries.
• Computer literacy and previous experience with Opera are an advantage.
