Plumber

About the role

Constance Le Chaland, a luxury resort on the south-eastern coast of Mauritius, is looking for a full-time plumber. The role covers water and gas systems, boiler maintenance and general plumbing repairs across the property.

Key responsibilities

• Follow safe work practices and comply with the Occupational Safety & Health Act, local health and safety codes and the company's safety and security policy.
• Take daily readings of water, gas and heavy oil consumption and hand them over to the Maintenance Assistant.
• Check daily that the drinking water basin has no leaks or overflow, and check the central water feeding pump.
• Carry out repairs on pipelines and ducts, and systematically verify water leaks from the central pipeline to the canalisation.
• Perform by-passes when water supply is insufficient for irrigation.
• Assist in room service works and in servicing boilers according to plans set by the Maintenance Manager and contractors.
• Carry out repairs requested by duty staff and repair pool installations as required.

Required profile

• Middle or secondary education; additional training or certificates in the field are a plus.
• At least 1 year of experience in the hotel industry; proven experience in top luxury resorts is a plus.
• Fluency in English, written and spoken; knowledge of a second language is a plus.
