Senior Claims Technician

About the role

Reinsurance Solutions Group is seeking an experienced Senior Claims Technician to join its head office in Mauritius. You will manage the full lifecycle of non‑life reinsurance claims, ensuring timely administration, collection, and settlement of recoveries while providing high‑quality technical support to clients and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and administer non‑life reinsurance claims from notification through settlement and closure.
• Review claim submissions and supporting documentation for compliance with contractual and market requirements.
• Process, monitor and collect reinsurance recoveries efficiently.
• Liaise with cedants, insurers, reinsurers, loss adjusters and other stakeholders to obtain information and resolve claim‑related matters.
• Monitor outstanding balances and proactively follow up on overdue recoveries.
• Maintain accurate claims records, correspondence, recoveries and payment information within internal systems.
• Prepare claims bordereaux, reports, analyses and management information for clients and internal stakeholders.
• Support negotiation and resolution of complex claims and recovery matters with reinsurers.
• Provide technical support and guidance on claims‑related matters across the business.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business, Finance, Law or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in non‑life treaty reinsurance claims.
• Strong background in managing complex recoveries and building relationships across the international reinsurance market.
• Excellent communication skills with clients, insurers, reinsurers and loss adjusters.
• Ability to work independently and support client retention initiatives.
