Waiter – Italian Restaurant

About the role

Join the Italian Restaurant team at One&Only Le Saint Géran, a luxury resort in Mauritius. As a Waiter you will deliver the highest standards of hospitality, ensuring every guest enjoys a seamless dining experience across the restaurant, bar, lounge and room‑service areas.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests, present menus and inform them of daily specials.
• Take food and beverage orders using the handheld POS system, noting any special dietary requests.
• Process payments, issue receipts and handle cash accurately.
• Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely service and guest satisfaction.
• Serve dishes and drinks, open and pour wine tableside, and upsell additional items.
• Maintain a clean and tidy dining area, reset tables, replenish utensils and refill glasses.
• Assist with stocking, basic cooking tasks and runner duties when required.
• Adhere to grooming and appearance standards at all times.

Required profile

• Familiarity with basic cooking techniques.
• Ability to communicate menu items and resort services clearly.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and fill in for absent staff.

Required skills

• Handheld POS system operation.
• Cash handling and payment processing.
• Wine service (opening and pouring).
• Basic cooking skills.
