Waiter / Waitress – Restaurant, Bar & Lounge

About the role

One&Only Le Saint Géran, a luxury resort on a private peninsula in the Indian Ocean, is looking for a waiter or waitress for its restaurant, bar and lounge areas, including room service when assigned. The role centres on serving guests to the hotel's standard with high hospitality, taking orders, serving food and beverages and keeping the dining experience smooth.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests, present the menu and inform them about daily specials and menu changes
• Suggest dishes and drinks and try to upsell
• Take orders on order pads or the handheld POS system, entering special requests (no garlic, less spicy, no egg)
• Process payments, issue receipts and give change
• Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff, serve food and beverages by course, and reset tables between meals
• Open and pour wine at the tableside, refill glasses, remove courses and replenish utensils
• Perform basic cleaning, help with telephone calls and financial transactions, and assist with par stock levels and side station
• Act as a runner when asked by the supervisor and cover for absent staff

Required profile

• Minimum CPE
• Previous serving experience required
• Excellent oral communication and positive interpersonal skills
• Ability to speak and write French and English
