AI-Focused Software Developer Internship (6 months)

About the role

We are seeking a talented Software Developer Intern with an AI focus to join our Mauritius team for a six‑month internship starting June 2026. The role provides hands‑on experience building software using AI‑powered tools while collaborating with experienced engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the development team to design, develop, and test software applications using AI.
• Leverage AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Rovo and OpenAI APIs to accelerate development and improve code quality.
• Assist in coding, debugging, and troubleshooting software issues, documenting findings for the team.
• Contribute to enhancing existing products through AI‑driven code generation, refactoring, documentation and test coverage.
• Support implementation of best practices and coding standards, focusing on AI tooling to enforce engineering excellence.
• Work with cross‑functional teams to understand requirements and deliver quality results.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or a related field, having finished Year 2 Semester 2 before the start date.
• Strong academic performance in programming, algorithms, data structures, computer organization and discrete mathematics.
• Passion for AI; participation in AI competitions, courses or projects is a strong plus.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Required skills

• Programming languages: Python, C#, Java, C++, JavaScript.
• AI‑powered development tools: GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Rovo, OpenAI APIs.
• Familiarity with AI frameworks/APIs such as OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, LangChain, Hugging Face, Azure AI, Ollama.
• Experience with prompt engineering and LLM fine‑tuning.
