Bartender

About the role

Constance Le Chaland, a luxury resort on the south-eastern coast of Mauritius, is hiring a Bartender. The role extends service in a professional, efficient and timely way, meets guest expectations and keeps the bar running smoothly through clear communication with colleagues, supervisors and management.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare cocktails to standardised presentation with creativity, and keep the bar organised, stocked and clean
• Maintain adequate stock and help management with the monthly bar inventory
• Recognise slow-moving beverages and propose or implement new ideas
• Anticipate guest needs in the restaurant and share guest preferences with co-workers
• Keep equipment in good condition, report faults and follow food safety, fire safety and emergency procedures
• Attend daily briefings, keep grooming standards and be punctual
• Carry out cleaning, opening and closing duties and other tasks assigned by department management

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in the hotel industry on a similar position, including training
• Middle or secondary education; additional training or certificates in the field are a plus
• Fluent English, written and spoken; knowledge of a second language is a plus

Required skills

• Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
• Ability to keep the bar organised, stocked and clean
• Superb multitasking skills and a good memory
