Business Analyst - RegTech

About the role

Imperium (L) is looking for a Business Analyst to join its growing team in Mauritius, acting as the bridge between international clients and its development team. The role turns finance, reconciliation and regulatory requirements into clear steps developers can build, mainly on a RegTech platform that helps regulated financial services firms manage client money and meet reporting obligations. It also offers work on other platforms in the portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead discovery and requirements calls with clients
• Turn business and finance rules into user stories, acceptance criteria, worked examples and process flows
• Map client data such as bank statements, ledgers and transaction feeds to reconciliation and reporting
• Work alongside developers during builds and confirm deliverables meet requirements
• Support user acceptance testing and new client onboarding through to go-live
• Help triage client support requests and share a support rota
• Contribute to other platforms and support BA colleagues across teams
• Identify process inefficiencies and automation opportunities, and keep requirements and process documentation up to date

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, IT or a related field
• 2+ years as a Business Analyst or in a similar analytical role in financial services
• Hands-on experience with reconciliations, audit, fund accounting or financial controls
• Experience writing requirements, user stories or specifications that developers have built from
• Fluent English and confidence leading calls with international clients
• Nice to have: experience with international clients, regulatory/compliance exposure, knowledge of client money or safeguarding rules (training provided)

Required skills

• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data
• Nice to have: Jira or other service management tools, basic SQL, UAT experience, professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, IIBA, BCS)
