Butler – Luxury Guest Relations (Mauritius)

About the role

The Butler is responsible for delivering a seamless, premium in‑suite experience for guests on a luxury retreat in Mauritius. Acting as the primary liaison between guests and all hotel and marine departments, the Butler anticipates needs, ensures flawless service delivery, and maintains the highest standards of suite presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome and orient guests to their suite, amenities, ship offerings, ports of call, and retreat privileges.
• Serve as the personal point of contact and advocate for each guest, coordinating inter‑departmental communication.
• Conduct taste‑testing and quality checks of all services and food items before guest consumption.
• Maintain the appearance, inventory, and overall look and feel of assigned suites.
• Champion excellence by continuously raising service standards across the retreat program.
• Collaborate with other retreat areas to share guest preferences and enhance the overall experience.

Required profile

• Minimum of two years’ guest‑facing service experience in a luxury environment.
• Fluent, clear, and courteous spoken English.
• Well‑groomed, confident appearance with a warm, welcoming demeanor.
• Strong emotional intelligence, resourceful thinking, and knowledge of conflict resolution.
• Working knowledge of food and beverage service.
• Ability to read and write English to follow procedures and communicate effectively.
