Financial Controller – Luxury Hotel

About the role

The Financial Controller will ensure the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of all financial records for a luxury hotel on the south‑eastern coast of Mauritius. You will lead the finance team, support strategic decisions and safeguard assets while complying with local legislation and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee month‑end and year‑end closing, budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Prepare and certify statutory financial statements, management reports and regulatory filings.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, ensure compliance with IFRS, local tax laws and company policies.
• Maintain internal controls, review balance‑sheet reconciliations and monitor treasury functions.
• Lead the finance department, recruit, train and evaluate staff, and foster a culture of accountability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration; professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA) preferred.
• 3‑5 years of senior finance management experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Proven ability to analyse performance, recommend profitability improvements and manage audits.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and local tax regulations.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with hotel accounting systems and ERP software.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities under pressure while maintaining high accuracy.
