IT Procurement Intern

About the role

The IT Procurement Intern supports the acquisition of hardware, software and related services, ensuring purchases are timely, cost‑effective and aligned with technical requirements. This role works closely with IT and finance teams to maintain compliance with budgets and company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate vendors for IT hardware, software and services.
• Create, track and manage purchase orders to guarantee on‑time delivery.
• Request quotations, follow up on pricing and monitor supplier deliveries.
• Maintain accurate records of IT assets, licences and inventory levels.
• Assist in tracking procurement spend against approved budgets.
• Support contract, renewal and licensing agreement management.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies and audit requirements.
• Collaborate with IT teams to verify technical specifications before purchase.
• Monitor shipment status and coordinate receipt of equipment.
• Update procurement databases and prepare basic spend and vendor reports.

Required profile

• Minimum HSC qualification; currently studying an IT‑related program is a plus.
• Strong organisational abilities with capacity to manage multiple priorities.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic problem‑solving mindset and eagerness to learn.
• Collaborative attitude and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer applications.
