Junior Accountant – Financial Services

About the role
The Junior Accountant will join the Finance Department to support accurate financial record‑keeping, statutory compliance and reporting activities. This entry‑level position offers exposure to a full range of accounting functions within a financial services environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Record and process financial transactions promptly and accurately.
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
- Prepare periodic financial and operational reports.
- Support tax return preparation and filing of statutory returns (APS, VAT, TDS).
- Monitor debtor and creditor accounts, follow up on outstanding receivables and verify payment instructions.
- Reconcile inter‑company balances and maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
- Respond to audit queries and liaise with banks on transactional matters.
- Assist with finance‑related projects and ad‑hoc tasks as assigned.
Required profile
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- ACCA Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Relevant internship or entry‑level accounting experience preferred.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard accounting software.
