Public Area Attendant

About the role

Constance Le Chaland, a luxury resort on the south-eastern coast of Mauritius, is hiring a Public Area Attendant. The role covers cleaning and maintenance of public areas, including floors, bathrooms, windows and furniture, while providing guest service and checking technical equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Remove all trash and traces, refill amenities (soap, gel etc.) and clean linen (towels).
• Clean floors (vacuum, sweep, dust mop, wash, strip, wax, buff), shampoo carpets and wash windows, walls, chalkboards and trash cans.
• Dust furniture, fixtures and woodwork, and collect and empty trash receptacles and pick up litter.
• Clean, sanitize toilets and bathrooms, and change and clean shower curtains.
• Carry out specialized custodial tasks such as floor refinishing and project cleaning.
• Provide customer service according to Constance group standards, handling guests' queries and complaints quickly.
• Check electrical appliances (lamps, hand dryers, telephone, mini-bar, TV, air-con, safe) and technical items (door locks, blackout, shower, hot/cold water, WC flush, blinds, curtains).
• Manage the stock of pantry and trolleys.
• Follow the hotel's dress, appearance and conduct codes, monitor trainees' progress and ensure health and safety practices are followed, reporting hazards, accidents and suspicious activity to the Duty Manager.
• Sign in and out for keys (cards) and perform other duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Middle or secondary education; additional training or certificates in the field are a plus.
• At least 1 year of experience in the hotel industry; proven experience in top luxury resorts is a plus.
• Fluency in English or another language.
