Refrigeration Technician – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Refrigeration Technician to join the maintenance team at Constance Belle Mare Plage, a leading resort in Mauritius. The successful candidate will ensure that all refrigeration, air‑conditioning and cooling equipment operates reliably, supporting guest comfort and hotel operations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain and repair refrigeration and air‑conditioning equipment, including chillers, split units, cold rooms and guest‑room HVAC systems.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance according to the scheduled plan and record all interventions.
• Diagnose equipment faults, perform timely repairs and minimise downtime.
• Monitor and log operating temperatures of chillers, chilled water systems and cold rooms.
• Prepare and update technical records and maintenance reports for each piece of equipment.
• Support the electrical team with basic electrical tasks when authorised.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns.

Required profile

• National Certificate, Diploma or Trade Certificate in Refrigeration, Air‑Conditioning or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum two years of experience in refrigeration and HVAC maintenance, preferably in a hospitality environment.
• Familiarity with commercial chillers, split units and cold‑room systems.
• Valid refrigeration handling certification is an advantage.

Required skills

• Knowledge of refrigeration and HVAC systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and refrigeration faults.
• Experience with preventive maintenance procedures.
• Basic electrical competence and ability to read technical manuals and diagrams.
