Risk & Compliance Officer (DMLRO)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Associate to join our Risk & Compliance function as a Risk and Compliance Officer / DMLRO. The role sits in the second line of defence, providing hands‑on support for financial‑crime monitoring, regulatory advisory, and operational risk across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct risk‑based reviews of client files to ensure AML/CFT, sanctions and internal policy compliance.
• Perform post‑transaction monitoring, sanctions screening and enhanced monitoring of PEPs, high‑risk clients and jurisdictions.
• Provide practical advice on client onboarding, due diligence, payments, and new business proposals.
• Support implementation of regulatory changes and act as a point of contact for compliance queries.
• Maintain auditable records, prepare management information and compliance reports.
• Assist with data‑protection activities, privacy impact assessments and data‑incident handling.
• Investigate suspicious transactions and prepare STRs for the FIU, escalating high‑risk matters as needed.
• Identify and report operational risks, record incidents and monitor remediation actions.

Required profile

• 4–6 years of experience in risk, compliance, financial‑crime or a related control function.
• Strong knowledge of AML/CFT, fraud detection and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in financial services, fiduciary, investment or wealth management is preferred.
• Familiarity with the Mauritian regulatory environment (FSC, FIU) is an advantage.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
