Senior Associate - Assurance Valuation Unit

About the role

This role supports the valuation teams in all aspects of reporting, research and the development of financial models for valuations and valuation reviews, covering financial reporting and assurance-related engagements in Mauritius and internationally, as well as valuation projects for transactions. The Senior Associate assesses the reasonableness of valuations and financial models.

Key responsibilities

• Research the company being valued, understand its sector, evaluate its financial and commercial risks and carry out forecast analysis
• Develop financial models that support fair and accurate valuations and valuation reviews
• Perform valuation analysis and help draft valuation reports for financial reporting requirements
• Report internally and externally in meetings
• Apply critical thinking, seek varied experiences and communicate clearly and constructively
• Follow the firm's code of ethics and business conduct

Required profile

• University degree
• Working towards relevant industry qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CFA or a Master's in Finance
• At least 1 year as a Senior Associate in assurance valuation reviews at a professional services firm, or at least 2 years in a Transactions, Financial Advisory, Investment, M&A or Business Development role at a professional services, boutique advisory, corporate banking, asset management or investment fund firm
• Experience in business valuation and financial modelling
• Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail and teamwork under pressure
• Willingness to travel for overseas assignments
