Credit Analyst – Business Credit Team (Corporate & Institutional Banking)

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Credit Analyst to join our Business Credit Team within the Corporate & Institutional Banking Department (CIB). The role involves assessing credit proposals, providing analytical direction, and analysing inherent risks to protect the Bank’s interests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare business credit papers with the support of the Coverage Team and act as facilitator across the credit approval process, adhering to credit standards.
• Analyse credit proposals by examining client credit risk profiles, financial statements, ratios, repayment capability, security adequacy, industry and country risks.
• Structure appropriate financial solutions for customers while staying aligned with the Bank’s risk appetite.
• Attend client meetings, liaise on credit matters, and review facility agreements.
• Ensure recommendations to Credit Committees comply with policies, regulatory guidelines, and service level agreements.
• Perform credit monitoring, covenant tracking, watchlist reporting, annual reviews, and early‑warning signal reporting.
• Maintain compliance with KYC policies, operating procedures, and internal credit control measures.
• Stay updated on market trends, industry developments, and banking regulations affecting the CIB portfolio.

Required profile

• ACCA qualified or a degree in Banking, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or an equivalent qualification accepted by the Bank.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in banking or the financial sector, specifically in credit analysis.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Central Bank guidelines and local legislation.
• Sound understanding of banking products and lending processes.
• Excellent analytical and risk‑management techniques.
• Highly numerate with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
