Bellman - Luxury Resort

About the role

Constance Le Chaland, a luxury resort on the south-eastern coast of Mauritius, is looking for a Bellman. The role covers guest assistance, luggage handling and vehicle maintenance, and is listed as full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Report for duty according to the rota, clean and tidy, wearing the correct attire and name badge, and follow company rules on attitude, behaviour, health, safety and security.
• Inform management of guest arrivals and departures and assist other departments when needed.
• Handle guest requests quickly and efficiently, respond promptly to guest problems and follow up until the guest is satisfied.
• Help guests with restaurant reservations inside and outside the resort, and arrange tours, excursions and car hire.
• Keep the lobby, luggage room, departure lounge, entrance, furniture and equipment clean and neat, and make sure there is enough beach towel stock at the lower reception.
• Deliver luggage, messages and parcels on time, and drive and maintain the club car according to hotel policy.
• Be financially prudent, respect budget guidelines and company financial policies, and report any irregularities related to the limousine and club car to the FOM.
• Comply with fire, health and safety laws, take part in related training, report equipment defects and keep fire exits and stairways clear.

Required profile

• Middle or secondary education, plus additional training or certificates in the relevant field.
• At least 1 year of experience in the hotel industry.
• Proven experience working in top luxury resorts.
• Fluency in English and another language, written and spoken; knowledge of a third language is a plus.
