Guest Service Agent (Receptionist)

About the role

Constance Le Chaland, a luxury resort on the south-eastern coast of Mauritius, is looking for a Guest Service Agent (receptionist). The agent welcomes guests and visitors, ensures a smooth check-in and provides efficient, friendly service throughout the stay while maintaining a high standard of customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure materials are ready for reservations, arrivals, in-house stays, requests and departures, and organise guests' reservations, arrivals, requests, stays and departures.
• Follow up on guest issues and make sure all customer requests are handled quickly and effectively.
• Check registration cards so that all required details are recorded, and update guest history files with new information.
• Record in a diary or trace book all pertinent events during a guest's stay (birthdays, weddings, anniversaries) and inform the relevant departments.
• Pass wedding and honeymoon reservation information to the front desk and other departments, and ensure rooms are assigned two days before arrival.
• Organise weekly invitations to the Management cocktail and take part in hotel visits when required.
• Coordinate with housekeeping, front desk, villas and other departments involved in daily operations.
• Maintain a guest history system recording preferences, comments and special needs.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in the hotel industry, including proven experience in a top luxury resort.
• Middle or secondary education, plus additional training or certificates in the relevant field.
• Fluency in English and another language, written and verbal; knowledge of a third language is a plus.
