Head of Global Markets

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of Global Markets to lead our Treasury department. This senior position will oversee all treasury operations, including structuring, sales, and trading activities, and will drive the delivery of comprehensive treasury solutions to our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Generate sales by devising and structuring a full range of treasury products.
• Formulate and execute trading strategies, guiding the trading team to meet targets.
• Design and implement financial risk‑management strategies covering interest rate, currency, and credit risks, using appropriate hedging instruments.
• Evaluate and recommend capital‑structure optimization initiatives, managing relationships with banks, investors and other financial institutions.
• Partner with lines of business to structure complex on‑shore and off‑shore trades.
• Develop, implement and maintain treasury policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and best‑practice standards.
• Prepare and present regular reports on treasury activities, financial performance and market trends to senior management and the board.
• Collaborate with finance, accounting and operations teams, and lead and mentor the treasury team to achieve departmental goals.
• Leverage technology and financial systems to enhance treasury operations and drive innovation in cash management and analysis.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of treasury management experience, including at least 10 years in a senior leadership role.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related field; master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., ACI Diploma, CTP, CFA) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of the African market.

• Proficiency in treasury management systems and financial software.
