Senior Investment Officer

About the role

deVere Investment Ltd is expanding its Investment Advisory team in Mauritius and seeks an experienced Senior Investment Officer. Reporting to the Investment Manager, you will act as a critical second pair of eyes within the department’s four‑eyes control framework, providing sign‑off authority on trades and new‑business cases while contributing to research and client advice.

Key responsibilities

• Provide independent sign‑off on trade execution or new‑business client cases, ensuring accuracy, suitability, compliance, and alignment with client mandates.
• Rotate sign‑off responsibilities and specialisms, including Pension and Life business, with fellow Senior Investment Officers.
• Monitor portfolio performance against benchmarks and client objectives, flagging recommendations to the Investment Manager.
• Conduct research and analysis of financial markets, economic trends, and individual securities, staying abreast of geopolitical developments.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Operations, and other functions to uphold laws, regulations, and internal standards.
• Support adoption of technology and AI to automate repeatable tasks, freeing capacity for higher‑value analysis.
• Provide technical coaching and knowledge‑sharing to Investment Analysts and Junior Investment Analysts when requested.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
• Post‑graduate qualification or professional designation (Master’s, CFA, CISI Level 4/6, or equivalent) – mandatory.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial services, with at least 3 years in investment advisory, portfolio, dealing, or investment operations.
• Eligibility to work in Mauritius (Mauritian national, permanent resident, or right‑to‑work holder).
