Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Strategic Finance Leader

About the role

Our client, a Mauritius‑based company serving the biomedical and pharmaceutical research markets in the US and Europe, is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead finance, IT and purchasing functions. The CFO will act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board, shaping financial strategy and ensuring robust governance across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and financial performance analysis.
• Oversee accounting, cash‑flow, treasury management and statutory reporting.
• Ensure compliance with financial, tax, legal and regulatory requirements.
• Establish internal controls, governance frameworks and enterprise risk management.
• Partner with the CEO on strategic planning, investments and major business decisions.
• Supervise the Finance Manager and provide executive oversight to the IT Manager on ERP reliability, cybersecurity and digital transformation.
• Drive alignment between Finance, IT and HR to improve efficiency and reporting.
• Manage relationships with auditors, banks, insurers, regulators and other external partners.
• Prepare and present financial and operational insights to the Board.

Required profile

• Recognised professional accountancy qualification (ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent).
• 10‑15 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role.
• Proven track record in financial planning & analysis, treasury, budgeting, statutory reporting, tax compliance, internal controls and risk management.
• Experience in a complex, multi‑entity, fast‑growing or regulated environment is highly desirable.
