Executive Director & Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

About the role

The proposed M Bank in Mauritius is seeking an Executive Director / Chief Financial Officer to lead its finance function as it prepares to obtain a full‑fledged banking licence. This senior position will shape the financial strategy, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the bank’s focus on foreign‑currency services for international clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present financial statements under IFRS and produce management accounts for the Board.
• Monitor and report Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), leverage ratio, and other capital buffers to the Bank of Mauritius.
• Oversee monthly assets‑and‑liabilities reporting and quarterly prudential returns (CAR, LCR, NSFR, large exposures).
• Lead ICAAP coordination, including capital adequacy self‑assessment and stress‑testing from Year 2.
• Manage tax allocation for Segment A/B income, corporate income tax, CSR/CCR levies, and VAT treatment.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of finance experience in banking, with strong expertise in IFRS and Bank of Mauritius prudential reporting.
• Qualified accountant (CA, CPA, ACCA) highly preferred, though not a strict legal requirement.
