Finance Manager – Shipping & Agency Operations

About the role

The Finance Manager will lead the finance and accounts function for a shipping and agency operations entity. Reporting to the General Manager, you will ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and effective cash‑flow management while supporting business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the finance and accounts team, both onsite and offsite.
• Maintain books of accounts in line with IFRS, statutory requirements and internal SOPs.
• Coordinate statutory audits, finalize financial statements and ensure no audit qualifications.
• Control revenue, billing, collections and credit compliance; monitor overdue receivables.
• Oversee vendor payments, including port and statutory authority fees.
• Review and enhance finance SOPs, implement new procedures as needed.
• Coordinate payroll and maintain employee records with HR.
• Ensure compliance with direct, indirect and transfer‑pricing tax regulations.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, liquidity and banking relationships.
• Lead budgeting, quarterly forecasting and prepare management reports, board presentations and performance updates.

Required profile

• Qualified CA, CPA, ACCA or MBA in Finance.
• 15+ years of finance and accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a Finance Manager or Accounts Manager role.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial‑reporting principles.
• Experience with direct and indirect taxation; international tax and transfer pricing a plus.
• Background in shipping, logistics, liner or agency industry preferred.
• Age profile 35–40 years (as stated in posting).
