Head of Debt and Global Finance

About the role

The Head of Debt and Global Finance will lead the end‑to‑end financing process for projects across multiple sectors and jurisdictions in Mauritius and Sub‑Saharan Africa. This senior position combines strategic leadership with hands‑on structuring of debt‑financed transactions, working closely with corporate, institutional, sovereign and business banking clients.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the bank’s debt strategy to drive growth, including term loans, corporate bonds and revolving credit facilities.
• Structure and price long‑term debt transactions in line with the bank’s credit policy and pricing guidelines.
• Collaborate with relationship managers, credit risk, treasury and business coverage teams to tailor financing solutions.
• Prepare and present credit and business papers to governance committees.
• Negotiate legal documentation with clients, legal counsel and facility agents.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in debt products, financial structuring and credit risk within Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Proven track record of originating and executing complex debt transactions.
• Strong understanding of corporate, institutional and sovereign client needs.
