Housekeeping Runner

About the role

One&Only Le Saint Géran, a luxury resort on a private peninsula in Mauritius, is looking for a housekeeping runner. The role keeps the floors' pantries stocked with linen and supplies, helps maintain guest room corridors and surrounding areas, and supports keeping the property clean and safe, especially in wet weather.

Key responsibilities

• Attend duty on time in the correct uniform and well-groomed, and attend the daily briefing at the start of each shift.
• Follow resort standards, procedures and the key control policy; attend training when required.
• Place cushions on swings early shift (E4) and remove them late shift (L19), keeping them in the housekeeping office.
• Arrange sun beds in front of rooms and ensure no trolley is used in corridors before 8.30 am for deliveries.
• Keep pantries adequately stocked with linens and guest supplies, and make sure room attendants receive enough cleaning products, supplies and equipment.
• Collect and dispose of garbage, recycling, linen and other waste in assigned areas, and remove soiled linen by 6.30 am and 4 pm.
• Clean guest corridors, garden borders, empty ashtrays, mirrors, railings and other guest areas, and use and maintain chemicals and equipment according to resort standards.
• Assist with placing and removing extra beds and cribs, and help with linen room and room servicing when needed.
• Report lost and found items, maintenance defects and safety hazards to the housekeeping office, and assist in linen and supplies inventory.
• Work a rotating roster including morning, afternoon, evening and overnight shifts, weekends and public holidays, as per Mauritian law.

Required profile

• Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work unsupervised and a strong customer focus.
• Physical ability to lift, move and bend regularly and stand for most of the shift.
