Pool Waiter / Room Server

About the role

One&Only Le Saint Géran, a luxury resort on a private peninsula in Mauritius, is looking for a pool waiter (room server). The role provides the highest level of customer service to guests in the rooms and suites, delivering beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and some food items in a timely manner.

Key responsibilities

• Know the suite food menu, wine and liquor menu and the employee handbook, and follow the training manual
• Listen to and respond to customer complaints (acknowledge, apologise)
• Maintain suite policies and procedures, and perform standardised opening and closing procedures
• Keep the department and still room organised, maintained and clean
• Handle cash and be familiar with credit/debit card procedures; act as shift leader when required
• Work flexible hours and cover shifts when needed, arriving prepared with a notepad, corkscrew, bottle opener and pen
• Attend all training sessions and staff meetings during the season

Required profile

• Completed Smart Serve beverage and food service training
• Previous serving experience is an asset
• Minimum school certificate
• A third language is an advantage
