Senior Risk & Compliance Officer (Fully ACCA Qualified)

About the role

We are looking for a highly analytical Senior Risk & Compliance Officer to support our client’s governance, risk management, compliance and financial control functions. The role involves identifying, assessing, monitoring and mitigating operational, financial, regulatory and compliance risks across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in identifying, assessing, monitoring and reporting key business risks and maintain the corporate risk register.
• Conduct risk assessments on operational, financial, compliance and strategic activities and develop key risk indicators.
• Review business processes and internal controls to pinpoint weaknesses and support continuous improvement of the ERM framework.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies and industry best practices; monitor regulatory developments.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports, conduct compliance reviews and investigate breaches.
• Analyse financial statements, budgets and operational reports to identify financial risks and control deficiencies.
• Support internal and external auditors, follow up on audit findings and prepare risk and compliance reports for senior management and the board.
• Review underwriting, claims, finance and customer service processes to embed a strong risk and compliance culture.

Required profile

• Fully ACCA qualified or part‑qualified with a strong accounting or finance background.
• Proven experience in risk management, compliance, financial controls and audit within an insurance or financial services environment.
• Ability to interpret financial reports, identify potential risks and recommend practical mitigation measures.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and governance frameworks.
