Treasury Accountant

About the role

DHL Global Forwarding, the Group's air, ocean and road freight specialist, is hiring a Treasury Accountant in Port Louis, Mauritius. The role administers treasury plans and processes to manage cash, funding, banking relationships and financial risks in line with business objectives, policies, guidelines, regulations and compliance requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out daily cash management activities in line with internal controls to obtain an accurate and timely cash position
• Follow payment-related internal controls and execute payments through the bank portal, tracking uncleared payments and resolving stakeholder queries promptly
• Post bank statements daily, oversee bank and payment postings in the general ledger, and distribute remittance advices electronically
• Perform cash and bank reconciliations, allocate and analyse transitory accounts, and maintain physical and electronic archives and treasury records
• Receive and process cash, credit card, cheque and other payments, issue receipts and pay employees, customers, suppliers and others
• Record daily cash transactions, compile and analyse cash flow information, and prepare daily, weekly and monthly cash status reports
• Contribute to projects such as stock option plans and acquisitions, and help prepare annual financial statements
• Build strong, trusting cross-functional relationships, resolve escalated issues, and comply with MOM/GOM standards and processes

Required profile

• Any professional qualification equivalent to ACCA Level 1 or a degree in Accounting/Finance
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to interpret financial figures
• Good written and oral communication, professional and objective approach, and a "can-do" attitude
• Ability to work independently and within a team, with a high sense of confidentiality
