Head of Finance & Accounts

About the role

We are seeking a structured, reliable and business‑oriented Head of Finance & Accounts to lead our finance function and embed financial discipline across the business. Reporting to senior management, you will oversee a team of four and ensure accurate reporting, strong internal controls, cash‑flow visibility and effective debtor recovery.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and lead the budgeting process.
• Analyse variances, provide recommendations and produce management reporting packs with key financial insights.
• Monitor and manage cash flow, produce rolling forecasts and oversee banking operations and reconciliations.
• Control receivables, lead credit‑control actions and coordinate recovery efforts with sales and management.
• Ensure timely VAT, tax returns and statutory filings; oversee accurate payroll processing.
• Maintain audit‑ready documentation, liaise with auditors, tax consultants and regulatory authorities.
• Strengthen internal controls for payments, expenses, procurement and banking.
• Identify financial, operational and compliance risks and recommend process improvements.
• Provide financial insight for business planning, pricing, investment and cost‑control discussions.
• Lead, coach and develop the finance team, allocating responsibilities and ensuring accountability.
